Julyen | 4' x 11'5

Sale Price:$695.00 Original Price:$885.00
sale

Materials: 100% hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation

Origin: Nomadic, Turkey

Date: 1980s

Notes: The rug contains a repeating dragon motif down the center. The dragon motif is meant as a protection against unforeseen harm. This rug was likely the first rug made by a young rug-maker at home or apprentice: the knots are larger and the once-vibrant pink yarn has faded into a spectrum of pinks and violets. As a relatively recently-made nomadic rug, Julyen’s dyes will continue to subtly change as the yarns are exposed to light.
